Last week, my partner and I enjoyed a whirlwind trip to Banff and Jasper, two incredible national parks we are lucky enough to be in relatively close proximity to. It was an early anniversary trip that worked well with both of our often-hectic work schedules, so we capitalized on the opportunity. And, of course, we had to bring our dog Freya along.
I announced that my Twitter was now a travel account and unplugged from the culture wars for a blissful 30-ish hours.
The first stop was Banff town, which we prefer to visit in the spring and avoid for the rest of the crushing tourist season. We parked in town (the parking was already mostly full) and embarked on the short hike to Bow Falls.
The Bow River, always a beautiful emerald color along this section, was just starting to thaw. I was also happy to see a new pedestrian bridge had gone up since we last visited!
