Behind The Looking Glass is an upcoming documentary about trans widows—women whose partners and husbands have decided to transition. This is an important topic that has not received nearly the attention it deserves. My friend and filmmaker Vaishnavi Sundar intends to change that.
The documentary, which she has been working on for the past two years, features the stories of women from all around the world, including Japan, Australia, and Germany.
You can learn more about Behind The Looking Glass, as well as what it takes for Vaishnavi to bring such a documentary to life, in this second teaser and fundraising clip.
Male Allies Challenging Sexism (MACS) is collaborating with Vaishanvi as a fundraising partner to help complete the documentary. You can donate through this link. I’ve just done so myself.
Alternatively, you can help support the film by picking up some fantastic merchandise from Fearless Female, like a shirt, a hoodie, or a handy tote.
Many people may know Vaishnavi from Dysphoric, a four-part documentary series on the rise of gender identity ideology and its effects on women and girls released in 2021. If you haven’t already checked it out, I strongly encourage you to do so!
I was very excited for Dysphoric when it was first announced, and I eagerly await Behind The Looking Glass Now. Let’s help make it happen!
