Don't Miss This Important Event - Vancouver Island Speaks!
In the fight against gender ideology, the most important thing we can do is to just keep talking, even in the face of rabid ideologues trying to shut us down left and right. This is especially important in places like super-woke Vancouver Island!
Thankfully, there is an excellent event coming up at the end of this month called Vancouver Island Speaks: Women’s spaces, parental rights, and protecting kids.
The event features a stellar panel of women who will be discussing the impacts of gender ideology on women, parents, and kids. Here’s a quick overview of the panelists, from the event website:
April Hutchinson is a Canadian powerlifter who overcame child sexual trauma and alcoholism to become a North American deadlift record holder who is fighting to save her sport from men. After speaking out against a man competing as a woman (and claiming the gold medal at the Canadian Powerlifting Union's women's regional championship last year), April was suspended by her federation for two years.
Bryony Dixon is a British born single mother, cancelled from her role as Artistic Managing Producer of the Nanaimo Fringe Festival for her views on gender. She remains committed to championing free expression – particularly addressing taboo subjects having a fundamental impact on our social fabric – in her new role with US think tank, Environmental Progress.
Kellie-Lynn Pirie, formerly Kenneth Anderson, is a detransitioner and the founder of Detrans Alliance Canada.
Meghan Murphy is a Canadian writer and podcaster. She founded Feminist Current in 2012 and is the host of The Same Drugs. Meghan testified against Bill C-16, Canada's gender identity legislation, in 2017, and was among the first to speak out against gender identity ideology in Canada. She is a fierce advocate for women, free speech, and the constitutional rights of Canadians.
The event will be taking place in downtown Victoria on May 30 from 6 to 9 PM. Tickets start at only $30 and can be purchased here.
As with all events that address gender ideology or the current progressive paradigm more broadly, organizers are keeping the venue a secret until the day before to help prevent harassment.
Unfortunately, I won’t be attending as I’ve got baby appointments to go to! If I could, I’d make the trip out in a heartbeat, so I figured some of my readers may want to know about it. And even those who can’t attend will likely be pleased that events like this are continuing to push the conversation forward in Canada!
