Introducing... Women and Girls Alberta!
New non-profit fighting for women's sex-based rights in Alberta and beyond
Dear readers,
I am so excited to tell you about a wonderful new project that I am very grateful to be a part of. Women and Girls Alberta (WGA) is a non-partisan, volunteer-led organization based in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to protecting the sex-based rights of women and girls in Canadian law and society. We also have an anonymous whistleblower reporting platform for documenting the infringement of these rights.
While Alberta is leading the way in these issues, thanks to Danielle Smith’s United Conservative Party, we know that more needs to be done to ensure that women and girls in our province and across Canada have their rights and dignity protected. WGA has already met with government officials, elected representatives, and community organizations across Canada to advance policy recommendations at the provincial and federal levels.
You can find out more about WGA on our website, created by Sarah Magan, which is full of more information and resources. If you like what you see, we also have a fundraiser on Give Send Go where you can help support our initiatives. We receive no government or corporate funding and are pending incorporation as an Alberta non-profit.

It means a lot to me to be a part of this organization. Over the past year and a half, it has been hard to feel very involved in activism. It went from being such a huge part of my life to something I had to drop virtually overnight. One day I had an op-ed published in the Calgary Herald in support of Alberta's trans-related legislation and the next day my water broke! Leading up to having a baby, I thought it would be really nice to take a step back from advocacy. And it was, of course—nothing was more important at the time than my daughter. But to my surprise, I really did start to miss it.
So, when my friend Jennifer Arnold told me about the organization she wanted to start focused specifically on Alberta, I was very excited. What an amazing opportunity to still be involved alongside passionate, smart, talented, and hardworking women committed to advancing our cause in this province. I have so much respect for our fellow co-founders, Leslie Cameron and Dr. Kathleen Lowrey.
We are proud that Alberta is already doing so much on this issue and we want to help continue making improvements for women and girls in the province and throughout the country. We would love for you to support us in any way you can, whether that be through a donation or simply by spreading the word about Women and Girls Alberta.
Thank you!

Best wishes with this new organisation.
When you get merch let me know. I will wear it proudly.
