In solidarity with Heather Mason’s Keep Prisons Single Sex protest in Windsor, Ontario today, I got together with some friends to hold a banner that says NO MALES IN WOMEN’S JAILS (made by the wonderful and crafty Christine) over a busy Calgary road.
It was the 21st such protest that Heather has done, and it was the third banner drop that we have done in Calgary.
You can read about some of the previous protests I’ve been a part of at the post below:
Like always, our banner drop was a big success. We stayed for about an hour and hung the banner from both the south- and north-facing sides of the bridge. There was lots of traffic and lots of approving honks from the passing cars.
In fact, those of us who have done this previously agreed that we got more honks and positive reactions like waves, thumbs-ups, and peace signs than ever before! I’m chalking some of that up to the Canada-wide gender ideology protests that took place earlier this week.
It used to be that most people had no idea what was going on with gender self-ID in women’s prisons, but it seems like maybe that’s finally starting to change.
I’m already looking forward to the next time!

Thank you for this! Looks like an excellent demo!
