Why I'm Glad I Met My Heroes

There are some really good people in this world

They say never to meet your heroes because the people we admire can often disappoint us by being, well, human. We idealize those we consider our heroes, and coming face-to-face with their flaws can quickly tarnish that image and lead to disappointment.

Well, I suppose I’ve been lucky, because I’ve had a chance to meet quite a few of my heroes, and my admiration has grown every time. Only, I don’t think it’s actually luck at all—I think it comes down to the reasons I admire them.
