Though he's a bit clueless as to the specifics, arguably more a part of the problem than of the solution. Lot of that goin' round these days. Apropos of which, see a post and my response to it by UK lawyer Sarah Phillimore who made this cogent observation:
Sarah: “... there are still people popping up on my timeline saying ‘sex and gender are exactly the same thing and I’m not going to budge’. ”
And you in particular might try thinking about the late great Justice Anton Scalia's take on that dichotomy:
Scalia: “The word 'gender' has acquired the new and useful connotation of cultural or attitudinal characteristics (as opposed to physical characteristics) distinctive to the sexes. That is to say, gender is to sex as feminine is to female and masculine is to male.”
In addition to which, see my recent conversation with a transwoman who's belatedly admitted that "she" doesn't qualify as a female -- largely as a result of that differentiating between sex and gender:
"I have seen so many people nervous to share their misgivings, almost whispering as they bring up that they think trans activists have gone too far in targeting kids or that it isn’t fair for a man to compete against women in sports. The relief they feel when they see they aren’t the only ones who feel this way is palpable. And, once they know they aren’t alone, their entire attitude changes."
Eva - This may be more important than even you realize for this is how the few control the many; thru fear + false dominance. False dominance being where the minority can cause the majority to falsely believe that it is the majority who support X and not the minority whatever X may be from gay marriage to gender affirming kid for minors. Fear is used on those for whom False Dominance doesn’t work leaving a small percentage of the population that can’t be mislead and can’t be made fearful of challenging the established narratives. Whether you like him or not wealthy people like Donald trump, Robert Kennedy and Vivek Ramaswamy are all wealthy enough that those in control, global elites if you will, are unable to use fear to shut these guys down. Thus for people like RFK and Ramaswamy they use the news media to attack hem so as to try and tarnish them so the public will not believe anything they say. For the more dangerous ones like Trump they use the judicial system to try and put these guys in prison and remove them from the board.
Unfortunately the space needed to fully detail what they are doing and how is such that it would require a pamphlet or short book and since this is just a reply post I want to try and keep it short. Long story short, a small group of the worlds most wealthy who view the rest of us as peasants who need to be managed by our betters ( by the elite ) because we are incapable of self-governance without destroying ourselves and mother Earth. To fix this they have to reset society but because they are so few it has to be done carefully, with stealth and over long periods time, over multiple generations so the peasants don’t take notice until it’s too late.
I am absolutely convinced that the shift in market research from polling to social media mentions has created an inflated sense of popular support for Gender Ideology.
Of note, Democratic Party strategists get their information from a few sources.
1. Polling (but polling data is less used now and is less reliable).
2. Tracking mentions across Google. The DNC gets preferential access to Google analytics and the tracking of social media mentions tends to inflate radical views as compared to actual popularity.
3. Information provided by institutions associated with major interest groups.
The Human Rights Campaign is an activist juggernaut but also considered one of the main avenues for the DNC to be informed of developments in the "LGBT Community". The takeover by the Trans activists of many LGBT organizations means that the DNC is no longer getting information of LGBT people critical of Gender Ideology via LGBT institutions.
The DNC is still getting information of view critical of Gender Ideology via their sources in other institutions (such as Hispanic groups) but can easily misattribute that to traditional religious views that will presumably decline over time.
As a matter of personal observation, the LGBT professionals in DC tend to be a bit more overconfident as to how workable policies are than their counterparts in other jurisdictions and that might be because DC is a very seasonal city without the same balance of families and apolitical institutions. It is very easy for upperclass people on the Left to get sucked into an unrealistic social bubble. A contributing factor is that the HRC and other major LGBT organizations are often staffed by the children of the elite. The same institutions that are supposed to provide accurate information are also involved in advocacy and also have family ties to the people trying to legitimize their policies based on some assumptions about the "LGBT Community". The result is that the incentives for accuracy are weaker than the incentives to support a political position.
I think a bunch of people were shocked when they saw LGBT people actually critical of Gender Ideology because that conflicted with every mention they encountered in their bubble. Sometimes that reaction is violent (the Log Cabin Republicans stopped showing up to Pride after the death threats got more serious).
If there is to be some restraint after the defeat of Gender ideology, it has to be made clear that LGBT people also opposed the ideology. If there is to be an emboldening of people in the Democratic Party, it has to be made clear that they are not getting accurate assessments from the HRC.
Be aware that some of the leaks gender-critical people get is from the people in hiding. That contributes to the rampant paranoia by the more radical activists as they can no longer tell who can be trusted with their resources. Some of the most revealing accounts come from workers close to the radical policies who can then relay the details to the open voices.
All that information goes away if those people can be identified as hostile to the Gender ideologues.

The trans-Titanic is unsinkable, until it meets reality.

I'll care about their numbers when they show the slightest hint of personal courage or responsibility. I'll respect them when they say something.
I see nothing to be optimistic about in this.
