I kind of doubt this 14 year old boy with a crazy father exists. This reads totally like a "letter to Penthouse": these men created a scenario which turns them on, and then wrote a paper about it which they presented as scholarly work but which was actually just high falutin fappery.

That is EXACTLY what I thought as well!

Another thought I had was that this email writer was just a fellow fetishist and another, darker thought I had was that he was a fellow fetishist who actually did have a son who was astronomically unlucky enough for this to happen to. I'm leaning more towards the fact that he simply doesn't exist, and I'm fact praying that is the case because what kind of father's first move would be to email these two and ask if he should raise his son as a eunuch??

Your reporting is fantastic, Eva. I've started to wonder about the framing about "new revenue streams", however. It's not that I am against following the money, but I think the dudes promoting eunuch fetishism via WPATH do not care even a tiny bit about profits. They want to castrate boys for its own sake, because it gives them pleasure, because they are completely depraved.

This is absolutely true imo. To these guys I don't think the money matters - to the rest of WPATH and the surgeons who would be happy to go along with this though, there could be a profit motive. But you're right, the ones who are obsessed with this are simply sexually depraved.

In 1910, half of US citizens still lived on a farm, according to census information. By 1920 the number of Americans living in urban areas surpassed the number in rural areas. Canadians will not be very different but I don't have hard numbers. We are one century past the point where more than half the people in the US dealt on a daily basis with the duties of selecting which plants and animals breed. Castration of animals was simply a fact of life on farms for thousands of years. I wonder how much of this bizarre fetish is a First World problem of never having to deal directly with your protein supply?

I’ve had similar thoughts, Matt. Having grown up spending a lot of time at my grandparents farm and participating in castration of the calves and colts every year, I was often struck by how my other urban raised friends had no concept of what was involved in animal husbandry.

Horrifying!

Your post is brilliant and so important. Yet again, fetish combined with profit. I wonder what the "medical error" was and how often this happens? We know about David Reimer, which another doctor (John Money) sure got off on with sexually abusing both brothers.

I keep coming back to -- the basic state of males is fetish and sexual obsession, and when they have enough power and money, medical power and harm. And then the lovely horror history, on a historical continuum. Just saw this today: https://www.thedistancemag.com/p/how-transgender-historians-give-magnus

Collecting “vintage” gay pulp fiction, e.g.. pornography you end up buying mixed collections with fascinating contents, and child genital mutilation via forced transsexual conversion (best with full cooperation of parents, doctors, and school…), usually started with social transition, chemical, then the full treatment. Eunuch themes (de-balled) and emasculation (de-cocked) are common.

Were a vintage porn collector to ask me about the story in the post I’d say it’s simply a fantasy, pops up fairly regularly in old collections and copied online.

However if you told me a reality show would feature a young gay boy being forcibly castrated on camera after his parents “allowed” (induced, for cameras) him to transition socially, and after chemical treatment would have final emasculating surgeries for public consumption, I’d also say that that’s a bit much.

That was, of course, “I am Jazz”. Even the name sounds like cheap porn.

My belief is that most people don’t understand that for people in the grasp of these fantasies, creating conditions for this to happen by proxy _is_ the fantasy. Call it Munchausen’s castration by proxy.
